Resolution: January 2021

There will be plenty of times in life when we come up against things that are difficult. Whether it was the first time we learned to read or the first time we prayed, it can be hard to learn new things. This month, we want to teach kids that growth is always possible. We want every kid to have a growth mindset. A growth mindset is the belief that we can change and that our abilities are not fixed. When a kid struggles with math, we don’t want them to say, “I’m bad at math, it’s just who I am.” Instead, we want them to say, “I’m not good at math YET, but I could improve in the future.” Whether a child is first learning to read the Bible on their own or saying their first prayers aloud at church, we want every child to know that spiritual growth is a process. That’s why our key verse for this month is:

“I am sure that the One who began a good work in you will carry it on until it is completed. That will be on the day Christ Jesus returns.” ~Philippians 1:6 (NIrV)

Throughout this month your students will be setting resolutions and working towards keeping them. What resolutions could you set for this month to help you grow in your faith?
